Hi Katie and welcome aboard! Like Bree said you will meet some great people here who have so much talent and information and are always willing to help out with suggestions or answers. And so many awesome lady builders too!

Looking forward to watching your build. Oh, where are you from? I'm from South Louisiana but living in Florida. Nice campgrounds in Florida (since I'm stuck here I might as well like them).

Katie, there Is a large birthday gathering near you every year called LCG=Louisiana Cypresswood Gathering...this is held at Lake Bistineau State Park, about 25mi SE of Shreveport/Bossier City Louisiana...#9 will be the last weekend in Oct...10/23-10/27(orthereabouts). Kids are very welcome there too! You should look into it in the "South Central" thread.

It's an annual birthday gathering for Jack, better known as Mad jack and it's been held there for years. Everyone is invited! I've never been to one since I live a good distance and pull a big girl now (a 1977 Scotty HiLander) since I sold my Teardrop. But from communicating with these great people for years I know you would be welcomed and have a great time.

Here is the party thread. Might want to get those reservations in. You don't have to be complete and you will be welcome.

Hi, my name is Debbie, and I'm new to teardrop trailers and to this forum. My husband and I ride two-up on a Yamaha Royal Star Venture, and we decided to camp when we travel to save money. Neither one of us likes sleeping on the ground, and the bike won't carry a mattress thick enough to suit us, not to mention the tent, sleeping bags, etc. So we decided to build a trailer. I designed it without actually doing much research - mostly just tried to make it big enough without being too heavy. The cabin is nearly complete, just needs trim, and the interior is done. I think we might get it roadworthy by Friday. I'll have to try to figure out how to post pictures here, but I do have some in my profile.

Welcome Katie and Debbie!

Looking forward to watching your builds and adventures.

Not sure why but I continue to no longer receive update email alerts when new posts are made in this thread so I'm missing out on a lot of the conversation here :(

Welcome, Debbie! I love your little trailer; looks like it's got lots of potential! I ride a motorcycle as well, I'm not brave enough to tow anything behind it so I'm looking forward to seeing posts about your adventures. :)

Thanks! We took it for a trial run a few days ago, and it seems to pull just fine. Still have a little more work to do, mostly on the electrical stuff. Brian is installing a 15w solar panel on the roof, which will charge an extra motorcycle battery in the trailer. I came up with a name for it - Harbor Crate. It looks kinda like a packing crate, and a lot of its parts came from HF. I can't wait to take it camping!
