Bathroom trips

Postby gypsy97 » Tue May 11, 2010 9:25 pm

I once backpacked in the Appalachian Mtns for 900 miles at a stretch, and have done lots of tent camping in state parks, so I'm not squeamish about going to the potty without a nice flush potty. But when traveling in the TD and parked in a campground, do you make the walks in the middle of the night to the privy or bathroom facilities? I take a very low dose of medication for blood pressure, and it is actually a diuretic so I'm up several times a night and this could be an important issue to me.

We use a small "potty tent" with a "Luggable Loo" and 5 gallon bucket with plastic bag liner and kitty litter. Very effective, very cheap and no long walks in the night. The tent can double as a changing room and/or shower enclosure.

;) Mine is inside! If I had a smaller TD I would use a potty tent or enclosure of some kind. I don't go to the campground facilities at night if I am alone.
