I think the answer is to just dye it all gray!

I have to say I didn't make it to gray hair. I couldn't stand it anymore and had to dye it again. My hair was three colors, yuk. I wish it was all gray but that wasn't the case. Please forgive me...I really wanted to be one of the grayed hair sisterhood.

 I remember every winter my hair looking awful with more than one color. Hated it too! Now it is so many colors that it doesn't matter.

It would be interesting to see a brave one. Perhaps a new picture with the many-colored hair of Miriam is in order? 8)

It's OK Doris. I am almost 100% natural and I have discovered that I am not nearly as gray as I first thought. My temples are white but the rest has very few gray hairs. It wont show in a picture. I will still do a pic in a couple of months when I am completely natural. We will be in the sisterhood in spirit!

Don't be sorry, Doris. You need to do what is right for you. I can sure understand how hard it would be to live with the growing out stage. But your experience just reinforces to me not to ever dye my hair. 'Cause it's like crack, once you start, you can't stop! Maybe there is a 12 step program for growing out somewhere!

So here is me at 51 in my last year's school pic

The back is still mostly dark, but I am mostly gray on the top and sides now. I think I look more gray/white in pictures than in real life, but I am pretty happy with it.

Do I or don't I ???

Postby Carol Reed » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:20 am

OK, Ladies....
I have been reading this, and still confused. I am 63, and I know that I am really a very gray because I have grown it out a couple of times before.

When I get around all of you, I know that nobody cares what color my hair is, so I am ready to let it grow out again. Then I come back to work, and I feel really OLD.....

I now have another pending issue which may be the deciding factor; my employer is taliking about mandatory furlough days and/or overall pay cuts.

You may have just reinforced for me that gray really is OK.
Thanks for listening to me babble !!

 Carol, what you think looks best is what is best for you. It took a long time for my mom at 84 now to get that grey was ok.

No she doesn't want a man, no she isn't employed, so what is it. She fears the women will point her out as old looking. Ladies need to be kind at least to their Elders.
