I just came across this interesting link. I don't know if this has been posted here or not, but it looks to me like these ladies need a Teardrop Chapter!

Thanks Jim,
;) I think we have a few Sisters here. I just can't imagine no dogs or kids or men... :? I really like Mike's company and have no intentions of leaving him home if I go somewhere he can go. Besides I would need a job to support those trips.

And for those who don't know---we Lady teardroppers take care of each other too. ;)

We men have been doing "men only" camping trips for years. I think it's great to see women doing the same thing.

But, I'm not sure I agree with the "no dogs" part. ;)

 I agree! If they allowed dogs, I might be interested; but, no dogs?

No Dogs?
What fun is that?

I'm an inactive member of Sisters on the Fly. It a great organization that does a lot of things together and for others and do a lot of traveling. It's a sisterhood so men are usually not invited to join them at their roundups, nor children or pets. The dues go up each year and it's gotten kinda pricey. But they are a great group of ladies.

Hey, it's their group and they can establish any rules for participation they wish. More power to them.

It sounds like a fun group. I bet their stipulation of "no children, no dogs, no men" is because they probably just want to make sure each lady gets to spend her time enjoying every aspect of the trip. By nature, women are caregiver (caretakers in some cases  R.I.P.).

I once went to a women's retreat and a lady, who home-schooled her kids through the week was there , just couldn't catch a break. It was the 1st weekend that she had time for herself in a while. Just as we were about to eat dinner, her husband pulled up with the kids. He claimed that the kids missed her so much that he had to bring them out to the retreat. While the rest of us women (married and single) fixed our plates and sat down to eat, there she was, fixing her kids' and hubby's plates. I know the aforementioned situation has indications of much deeper sick issues/problems. ...but the "no men, no children, no dog" rule might give a woman who doesn't know when or how to establish boundaries around her "me time" a little help.

I really don't have a problem with a group excluding men and children or creatures. I just can't imagine planning fun trips where I know Mike was excluded. And if he ever planned a fishing trip without me---- :R

It's a "Sisterhood" club for sister-friends. I really have no problem with excluding husbands, boyfriends, kids or pets. It's not like you are leaving them for weeks - it's just for a roundup (gathering). Frankly, I enjoy "women-only" time sometimes. I don't want to be with my husband 24/7...we appreciate each other more when we give each other some space sometimes. He loves that I love going camping and I love that he goes play golf and doesn't ask me to come along. ;) "It's a good thing Martha!"

I like getting away from the family now and again, but to leave my dog even though this boy has only been around little over a month doesn't seem right.

OK by me though, I prefer not to camp in a group anyway. Though they do look like a great bunch of ladies who hsve a really great time.
