We do stuff with the sisters here and have camped together with them. Not all there camp outs are women only. Maurie the head sister doesn't live to far from me and is a great gal.

Sisters On the Fly not 100% no men, no dogs all the time!

Postby texas2stepper » Sat Sep 17, 2011 11:40 am

Hi Lady Teardroppers,
I am new to these forums and so glad I found them! I am a member of SOTF and have tent camped with them, but having a trailer of some sort is the way to go....I have seen several teardrops at camping events. I am currently planning on getting a teardrop as my car is not rated to pull a whole lot of weight, so a teardrop works great for me. I am actually hoping to build my own-I am very handy with tools and such.

As for the no men, no dogs rule they have, they do have several events where "sisters bring their misters" and there are occasional ones where dogs are allowed. Most of the time on the no dog rule, it is really up to the campground (pets ok or not) and also the leader of the group for that event. So it isn't always a totally no men, no dogs! Please join us because we have more fun than anyone!

I'm a sister. I love camping with my kids and dog (no mister right now for me). It's a lot of work but I really love it. However, it's nice for a couple of weekends a year to spend time just with other women. It's less work because we only have to take care of each other so we can focus on fun and sisterhood. Plus, there are martinis! I've already learned new skills from my sisters and I'm looking forward to learning some fly fishing next spring. Between camping trips we keep in contact and share lots of tips and support. One of my sisters said, "It feeds the soul" and its true! We have more fun than anyone!

Hi amyblue22

Welcome to the forum! So glad you've found this forum too.

Reading an article about Sisters On The Fly is what started me on this obsession of having a little "hard-sided home" in which to go camping. Those little trailers looked so cute, and doing anything with a group of like-minded women is always fun. Don't think there's any SOTF group up my way, but I do enjoy camping with friends I've made through this forum and the Tearjerkers forum.

Take care,
Lil M.

Hi Lil, there aren't many sisters in the North East but I know of a few out your way. That's one of the reasons I joined this group - to meet folks with similar interests. Thanks for the welcome.
