Curtains or Blinds for Little Guy Silver Shadow

Postby CogliettisInACan » Thu Oct 23, 2014 9:26 pm

Has anyone installed curtains or blinds in their Silver Shadow? I really want to install something with cute fabric but I'm scared to drill holes into the trailer. My husband wants to buy the blinds they sell on the Little Guy site but they are a boring gray. Any advice?

Doesn't Little Guy manufacture the Silver Shadow walls with 3/4" plywood? Just don't use 1/2" screws.

I stole Kayakdlk's drape method (Sailrite's marine drape hardware): viewtopic.php?f=50&t=57065&p=1056945&hilit=sailrite+curtains#p1056945

If you really don't want to drill holes into your Silver Shadow - and I totally understand! - then maybe try some of the 3-M adhesives - check out this Life Hacker post:

Another option is RV Glide-Tape:

You would have to cut the track to size and then attach it with small screws to your camper doors, but the curtain covers up the track - not sure if you can epoxy them (like the Sailrite, which is probably a better, albeit more expensive, option). I just posted some pictures of the curtain I made for my Camp-Inn 550 - there's some text associated with the pictures you might find helpful, if you decide to go the glide-tape route.

We installed curtain rods on our silver shadow with no issues. Just measure twice, drill once. :)

I'm with Cubbie. I'm a big fan of the 3M strips for the very reason that no hole is needed. And you do not need to use their hooks, Get a package of the replacement strips and apply to the back of any flat-backed hook you want. The Velcro strip allow removal if need be.

Cubbie, you must be a Scouter. Only a Scouter would have a handle like "Cubbie" and use McClaren tartan for drapes.
