The shipping container is a great recycling use. I've read that the containers go one way and get scrapped or just piled up. They could help aleviate the homeless situation.

They are used until they can't be anymore, the biggest thing that kills them is rust. I've seen many that were 10 years old or more still in use. But when they're done, they do make a dandy quick structure for an affordable price.

My parents bought one for a storage building on the farm. Cheaper than renting the mini storage unit in the long run.
