Friday was a shopping day 180' of PVC tongue and grove car siding for $150.00 off of a yard sale site. It will be used as the tub surround in the caboose. Not one of my better deals but it was 1/2 off retail price !~~~~~ I love bargains :D

Been a while since I have been here as other projects have taken precedence.......

I was unhappy with the way the rolling closets/potty doors operated. Well yesterday I found a deal on 10 7'x2' metal framed rolling peg boards. They are hung from a track much like a barn door track in miniature. Still quite heavy with nice 4 wheel rollers. I am planning on using the reinforced peg boards in the flea market fliver and the house in a house shop. However , I plan on using one of the five sets of track and rollers to hang the rolling closets in the caboose. The 5 sets of 8' track and 10 roller assemblies will make great barn door hardware and the caboose only needs one set (maybe two).

Hey Bob, if you decide to unload the wine cooler, keep me in mind. I'll buy it from you (just don't charge me the original new price)!

It's a very important remodeling tool. It is keeping the beer at a brisk 34 degrees

Well haven't been here a while but I had a large bulge in the ceiling of the caboose. I needed to investigate. Well the long story short there is gonna be a family of squirrels that are gonna be real unhappy.

A total of seven 5 gallon buckets , this picture was one of two pools full.

The caboose has a full aluminum pan over the frame then 2 layers of 3/4 inch foam and 3/4 floor sheathing so they had to be getting in upstairs. We found one small area in the rubber roof that might have been the entrance so it was capped with yet more trim .

Maybe you could build them a cheap square box, near where they left these, to hold them for the squirrels. Then you'd have a squirrel watching location too!

They will probably have to get some sort of government assistance to make it through the winter now! :snow
Thanks Bob!

Throw some out ever now and then so you can ration them out all winter.

Been a while since we have been here. Shifted gears today and started drywalling the very neglected caboose. Now that the Depot is the sleeping area and living room I decided to repurpose the front of the caboose to the office. With AT&T scheduled after the 1st of June I needed to get the walls ready and my new $20.00 cherry desk in place. I have the new custom built computer ready to install and will have a nice 32" flat screen for the monitor. I hated biting the bullet on TV cable and internet service but what the hey you can't stay in the 20th century forever. If I can shovel out the mess I might even add some pics. :pictures:

Still a little rough but the drywall is up and the office is in place. Got stood up by the AT&T internet installer :x

The threat of having them show up got myself and a helper in high gear to get the drywall done and to give the caboose a heavy duty clean up :D

The caboose bath area just might get a fancy ceramic wood look floor .....

It seems my buddy has about 4 crates of cement clapboard and about 400 sq ft of ceramic wood look flooring. He gathers for a mission but these donations are just too heavy and specific to be of value where he is directed to take the random donations. They are meant for the poor and yes I guess I qualify so I took a moment to thank the man above and intend to get my butt over there and gather my gifts.

Hard to believe it is ceramic planking ..... Image
