Bob,

You're not going to run those stoves/furnaces/fireplaces Inside
the the HiH are you ? I thought we'd all 'decided' that may not be a good
idea earlier on in the thread - pg2 - CO2 and all. Can you extend a
stack through the roof or wall or such ? I'd be really leery of it [CO2].
Maybe you could scrounge up one of those vent-through-the-wall
[the REAL exterior wall] heaters or enclosed gas fireplaces.

We'd hate to see any harm come to you from such a set-up. I wouldn't trust
just exhausting them into the larger volume of the barn/storage-building/garage
you're building in.

CO = carbon monoxide, CO2 = carbon dioxide. One of these can kill you, the other not so much. Not trying to nitpick here, just pointing out the difference.

Hey, I didn't realize Bob was talking about running unvented propane appliances in there. Norm is right, not a good idea. CO will build up in your body, and cause harm or even worse, death.

Find a way to vent the exhaust out of that big barn.

I have used the fancy fireplace shown in earlier pic for 3 years now. Yes it is equiped with a oxygen depravation sensor and is 99.6% effecient so there is no exhaust per say. And yes I have a CO detector ready to install as well.

LP is a "wet" fuel leaving a trace of water vapor as it is burnt. I am sure that in severely cold weather this fact could help to contribute to the possibility of upper respatory problems.

Here it is the 10 th of January already

Have been blown out ( the tornado )

froze out from -15 below weather

then snowed out with 12 to 16 inches of snow.

Just killin' time till the weather breaks.

Saturday this weekend I have 4 giant bales of scrap 1" blue foam earmarked for me. It will be cut on the big table saw at work to 22 1/2" to fit in the cavities between the studs and ceiling joists. By using the free window and door cutouts from here at work I may be able to return some of the fiberglass roll insulation I have already purchased.

Well I have spent the snow days brainstorming......

Found this today and it set me to thinking.....



I am thinking of a pull out cabinet with the sides shelved for large pots and mixing bowls and a pull out trash bin on the opposite side. I guess I could make a set of faux drawers for the front but I am thinking a flip up extention for the top to extend it to almost 4 foot.

Good idea, Bob. Growing up, my parents had a table that had two fold down sections as well as the main section. In the main section, there was a drawer that was accessible when that side's table leaf was lifted. We kept our spoons, forks, knives and other eating utensils in there and it could not have been more convenient.

Got an offer on the house today in response to the short sale. I gave it my OK all the rest is up to the bank !

Well I have two homes 1/2 built ( but livable) and both are illegal to live in. The adventure is about to begin in probably 30 days.
