A new gang/club/ whatever....

Recently there has been a lot of chatter about being in the "200A gang/club...whatever", some talk about Hello Kitty on a shirt as I recall......the "green lantern Corpsman" and the "High and handsome" group. Many of us have items that can enable us to be in those cliques. This group however, is just for the real "hoidy/toidy", those of you with some serious collecting ambitions. Now is the time to separate yourself from the "also rans".

It's the Model 1 group. To be in this group...you gotta have a Model 1 Coleman stove, working or not, restored or not. They were only made in '23 and '24, the first edition of the famed Coleman stove...90 years old now! Who knows, it's entirely possible that one of these stoves actually cooked mash for a small time bootlegger back during prohibition! These are the stoves that people used and maybe talked about the antics of Al Capone, John Dillinger, Bonny and Clyde and Charles Lindberg and that "new" guy in Germany...Hitler I believe. These babies have some history behind them! It's a whole 'nother world to learn how to fire them up. Any newcomers? Mine is a restored runner, yeah I know, over restored! Can you join the "were #1 group"?

And for the old lantern types...remember...they give you light, this thing will provide you food. Food is a necessity...light is a luxury. Doug

Guess I am not hoity-toity enough to join your LITTLE club. I am proud to be one of the also rans! In the words of my three year old granddaughter Zoe "I'm crying...boo hoo... sniff sniff...i'm crying"

All kidding aside that is one nice looking stove!

I've always agreed with Groucho--I would never want to belong to a club that would allow me to be a member.

I applaud your effort to create yet another group to encourage people to clean out their garages to see what is hidden away in those dark corners . . .

It is an exclusive club, but I look at it this way...there is usually no debate on the gang colors! I don't know if he is still on the forum, but there was another possible member. Doug

Hi Doug and gang, I haven't posted in a loooong time but you drew me in this time I've never fired the old girl up, maybe some day, I don't want to scorch that paint job I spent way too much time on. She's here in good company with my 1924 327 probably the brightest lantern I've got.

More like an M2 stove - for REAL cookin' ( or double as a campfire)...... the ultimate in a Coleman single burner! 3 gallons of whatever fuel you can throw into the tank and let er' rip. You know what they say - Go big - or go home! My stove burns your little stoves for fun!
