Vintage Coleman and other stuff....

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Postby doug hodder » Thu Dec 25, 2008 12:14 pm

John...I only put in felt where the lantern touches the bottom and on the sides where the shade might touch...actually a poor design. The nuts for the hasp can touch the top, so I had to cover that up. The bottom has a circular cutout so that the base is captured.

Aaron...you know the drill....pictures are required! Have fun with it all. Doug

I finally received my most recent stove purchase. Man did the holidays ever slow down the mail! It's not a Coleman but I am very happy with the quality of construction!

Image
The stove is branded as a Hawthorn By Westernfield Made by Rinnai.

Image
It gives napatha as a fuel choice along with gasoline.I am sure Coleman fuel will work also.

Image
It has a knob you pull in and out that moves a damper on the mixing chamber to adjust the intensity of the flame.

Image
Bad lighting on this pic but it shows how the secondary burner control slides in and out of an opening in the case.

Image
Folds up very nicely like a briefcase!

This stove will probably become my most used because I like the features it has. I've pumped it up and it flows air out of the generator just fine. I need to replace the gasket in the cap before it gets fueled up and lit. That will be one day this week.

The stove was sold thru Montgomery Ward.

Here is the manual for your stove:

Did it come with it's wrench?

Thanks for the link to the manual for the stove Jeremy! You just saved me a ton of Google time! Yes it did come with the wrench. If you look real close in the first picture you can see the wrench laying inside the stove.

It does look like beefier construction, that rib rolled into the sides gotta give it more strength! A nice stove Mark! Doug

No, Eatons......which was the Canadian Sears, closed down about 20years ago. I did try to pump it , but have the same problem you have, need to repace the washer in the fuel cap. Thinking maybe a regular hose washer will work, if not I might have to find a supplier. The cap is a lot bigger than coleman.

John I would think a hose washer would swell up if used with fuel. I would think cutting one from a sheet of neoprene rubber or industial leather would be the answer. I googled Rinnai who is still in buisness but found no info on available parts.

Having the parts list and finding someone who can still get you those parts are 2 very different things for sure!
