Buying on eBay.

Postby rainjer » Sat Dec 13, 2008 1:03 pm

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a gentlemen's agreement not to bid against each other on eBay. It would help to prevent the price being run up more that normal. I noticed that problem some time back when everybody was buying waffle irons. I was able get mine before the prices skyrocketed.

If you are bidding on a item you could post the link so other people would know not to bid against you. Once the bidding is done, you could edit the post to say if you won it and remove the link.

I am not sure if this would work, but it was just an idea I had.

I started a threadbefore along these same lines. I'm wondering if it would have a reverse effect and actually create interest in something that stealth bidding would accomplish best. The last item I won was at the last minutes of the auction and I would encourage others to wait as long as possible to bid to keep the prices reasonable. :D Danny

As a seller on E bay you want the price to go up. Duh. As a buyer you hope the opposite. Try this sniper. Read how it works and try bidding using it. There are other sniper as well that work much the same way. But what they do is hold the bid until the last possable moment so as not to be outbid. Sometimes it works, depends how many others are using the same source.
