Well, after a disaterous time with the 220J last night I woke up with a better attitude and dove in on the 220K this morning. It was in MUCH better shape, cleaner and came apart better than the J did. I think the biggest problem the 220K had was the fact that the air tube was full of spider webs!! Blew them out, put it all back together and fired it up........


After getting this one going I'm starting to think that the 220J has been dropped on it's top somewhere along the line because the generator is bent and looks like the fount is bent in where the valve screws into it. To me that would cram the pickup tube into the bottom of the tank. I'm going to mess with it some more but I may have an $18 piece of crap.....

Congrats on getting a burn out of the k. good luck with the j. You might try screwing a length of iron pipe into the fitting on the font to reverse the bend. the generators aren't too expensive.

Nice finds Dennis....are you planning on hauling them in the trailer with you? I've been thinking that one fueled up with citronella oil might be perfect for the bugs....can that be done? Doug

That is a consideration but that means I will have actually clean it. The Comet is a small one but I liked the embossed glass. I have a much newer one in a dark corner of my front room with a stick on label, this is classier. I did not get the blue one, it has a good of rust on it but the red glass looks good. If it is there next visit to the swap meet I will get a price. There is a tall green one with the wide top that looks like Danny's but there ar no logo's on it that I will check into also.
Last Sept at Spamboree one of the guys had 4-7 lanterns for sale, I expect him to return for the final rally. I alrady have 6 Dutch Ovens and I am not sure I need another addiction.

Hey Doug, picked up a cherry 1947 Coleman 500 speed master stove. I'm going to have to oil the plunger before use but man what a beautiful stove. (I know, pictures)
I just got back from 4 days camping at the beach and used the 75 military lantern, it worked great. pumped it 10 time lit it and it burned until the fount was empty.

I got the shop sort of cleaned and thought I'd start a box for it. With a little larger grate on it, should be perfect for a waffle cooker don'tcha think? Doug

I would like these dimensions also. I am still looking for a 500. I have the 502 bot it may be to small for cooking waffles.

Thanks George! Steve E has an old Coleman that he modified and said that I could have it. I'm going to use the grate to pick up the extra width on the top to run the waffle iron. My base takes 11" dia. Have you played around with it yet? Nickel or painted fount? I don't know what year they changed, mine is a painted one. Doug

mines nickel, It dosn;t hold pressure well. I'll get it working though. theres just something about a 60 year old stove can't wait to get it working right.
