Just tie it on so that it doesn't fall off. Make sure the string is in the groove in the cap that it attaches to, cut the extra string off....Heikki....you're not going to learn how to swim if you don't get in the water!  Just razzing ya! I know it's all new to you, but don't worry, you'll do fine. Doug

Make sure you have it tied in the correct spot. There should be a recess in the side of the burner.

Your string should tie around there, not above the burner. It does not need to be super tight, but make sure you double tie it so it does not fall off. The mantle will shrink after you burn it. Also trim the ends of the sting off after you tie it on.

Heikki...don't let any of the ribbing get you down. It's not a big deal, you got the common sense, all the info. Time to lose your virginity...in the words of Nike....Just do it! Doug
