The Finn Finally Lights Up... (Best Prank Yet)

Postby Classic Finn » Mon Jan 26, 2009 4:09 pm

Ok after all rechecks and mantle checks and fuel filled.. weve got a final light up.

Also asked Doug by email as to how many pumps are needed to be satisfactory and so on. And the reply was 300 or so. So I pumped away.
I think it might have been a typo though. Not sure  .

We were really concerned so got the extra long match. Suvi took the picture and we sent the kids to the neighbors for the eveing just incase it blew up. The guy in the You tube video was right, it does flare up a bit, but after 30 to 45 minutes it settled down",

It was quite dark outside .

This is the photo of it.

The wife told me she wont let me play with lanterns anymore.

Neighbors told me a fire station vehicle had come by the house after it had all quieted down. I think someone called the fire station..

Heck we just left the lantern and all there till it cooled off and never touched it after that.

Did you follow the instructions Doug sent you?

http://www.coleman.com/coleman/images/p ... series.pdf

As I said before. Take the top & galss off the first time you light it & never light it in the same place you fill it. (and move the fuel away from the lantern.) You are luck you didn't break the glass.

We were afraid of getting fined for this mishap or so called happening so we got rid of the canister. And cleaned up the yard.

We cant afford no fines at this moment and time. Or should I ever. This kind of torch work has to have a pre approved permit here. And of course we didtn think it would turn out to be this kind of an event.
