Nope, no sticker. They did not start putting the decal on until 9/51. This is a 6/51. This is what it would look like from the factory.

My guest lantern a July 1951 228E has spent 10 days at the spa. It's now ready for camping. I'll let it sit for a while under pressure but appears to be fine. Just need to let the paint cure for a while longer before it makes it's trip back to Dennis. Doug

Are you sure in the date & model #?

The 228E was 1952-1963.

The 228B was 1947-1951.

It look like a 228E to me. It may be a Jan 1957.

Yeah...you're right. I didn't check the date on it against the mfg dates. It has a 51 tank on it and a 228E rest. It appeared to have been apart at least once in it's life. Didn't even think about it not matching. It may be made up of several lanterns. It did have a bent tank, so it's hard to say. My E model has a plated rest on it, this one was like on my B model, but it's gone to a new owner now. I wonder if it is one of those things that there were some cross over parts used. Doug
