200A Color Match

Postby BK » Thu Apr 09, 2009 10:20 am

I'm redoing my first 200A, what is the best color match for the font? I
used one of the colors suggested in a previous message (Rustoleum High
Performance Enamel Safety Red #7564) which is not the best match.
Comparing the vent top to the newly painted font, the font is alot lighter
and more orange. Thanks in advance.

The 200A is a hard one to match. It was not un-common to find a 200A that the vent & fount are different shades of red. The color of the vents will vary from dark pink to red-orange to burgandy. the best thing to do is thake the vent to the store and match it.

I used Krylon Interior-Exterior Cherry Red Gloss. It's a shade darker but I think it looks good overall.

After looking at 4 shades of red for 10 min, I went with Rustoleum Sunrise
Red (#7762). Very close to the original color.
