Determining age

While at 2 seperate estate sales I picked up an old Coleman steel sided cooler and a Coleman water jug. I think that both are pretty old because they're both painted with the 'old' (lighter green) color. The cooler has bottle openers on each handle. How can I figure out how old they are?

I can't say with any certainty; but I do believe in my research on Coleman products that I read somewhere that the dates of manufacture are stamped (or molded in the case of plastic) on the bottom of coolers and jugs.

As per a recent PM session with another member of this forum... deciphering it may be a another chore all together. The numbers don't always make sense. Knowing the model number will usually get you within the right decade.

Sorry I couldn't be much help.
