Can you spot the modification?

OK, Coleman experts, how sharp are your eyes? I made a $2.00 modification to this 200A to help protect the paint and vent. Can you spot it?

Hard to see isn't it? Well I covered the bale handle with clear heat shrink tubing right down to the 90 degree bend. I think it will protect both the paint on the fount and the vent from metal to metal contact. Cost was 2 dollars and some change for a 4' length of the tubing.
What do you think? Worth it?

Great idea there  And if you ever do go to sell the lantern it can be removed with a bit of effort I think.

It can be removed by just slitting it with a razor blade. It's not bonded to the bale.

If it's not bonded to the bale, can water get in and cause the bale to rust do you think? I've got some really rusty ones. I've been wrapping the peak on the bale with a piece of narrowed up electrical tape. It only hits at the 1 spot. It's a slick idea however. Doug

Doug:
Although it's not bonded to the bale, you can make it as tight as you want it by applying more heat. I did this one tight enough to keep it from twisting. I don't think water will be an issue, but time will tell. Being clear, I can keep tabs on it.
