Found a 502

Postby TLC » Mon Jun 29, 2009 5:41 pm

I recently found a 502 on Craigs list for $10.00 When I picked it up I was surprised to find it had NEVER been used. Never fueled, never lit, complete with the original box and all paperwork. Here's my 40 year old NEW 502.

Just goes to show, they're still out there floating around.

Cool when you find a cherry like that, just sitting in a box waiting for a new home. Doug

Doug:
Yes it's cool and even better since I beat Dobyman to it. I kicked it around as to weather I should just keep it in it's present condition or use it. I was looking for one to use....so I'm going to put it into service and use it as it was intended.

I'd use it too! The only ones I don't use are the '27 Handy Chef and the '30 Coleman. I got them both restored and running, but parts for them can be challenging to come by, and I don't want to scratch them up, everything else is a user. I was PM'ing Jeremy the other night, saying I was going camping and what lanterns and stoves I was going to take, gotta have some variety. I need to take the Military lantern he gave me out for its coming out party. I rotate them through the use cycle regularly. Doug

Doug:
That's the same thing I had in mind. I'll pair this 502 with the Heritage lantern. And pair my original 502 with the sweet 200A Dobyman found for me.
Happy camping
