This is somewhat like the guy that hangs around the high-school passing out free samples: Everyone here got me hooked on collecting Coleman, then made me go cold turkey!

Get some of them out and fire them up. That will rejuvenate you. It won't matter that nobody else sees them.

I dont fire up the desktop as much as I used to, thats my excuse. Tapatalk makes my not so smart phone even less smart and buggy so cant use it for coms on TnTTT :?

Too much technology anymore, makes me want for a summer long hosting gig in a nice state or federal park without any devices.

Well, I have been gone for years, but I am back. And in a Coleman mood. I am still working on my TTT, but now I am working on it like crazy. And I have my Coleman with me every night. Its a little more modern than yours Slow, but still a Coleman. Its a power cat that is about 20 years old and eats those little propane cylinders way too fast. But with a tarp over the top to keep the heat in, it keeps me warm. Now if it will just warm a bit, I am ready to break out the 425 and a couple of old lanterns and do some Coleman cooking.

I haven't posted in a long time, finished up the last trailer, cleaned the shop and am working my way through some of the gas stuff I've not gotten around to. Currently working on a complete restoration on a Coleman 2C 1927. One of the burners is incorrect, but it was probably repaired at one time and a '28-'31 burner was installed. Just waiting for some decent weather so I can do the blasting on the case. Doug

I feel we are still running on impulse power. When will Scotty get the Warp Drive fixed? You know he once told an intern to never give an honest estimate of repair time so he could have it fixed in time for the Captain's plan.

Light one up for Doug

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Fri Mar 02, 2018 6:58 pm

For those who have followed this thread.....please take a moment to LIGHT UP a lantern in honor of Doug Hodder, owner and curator of his own Coleman Museum, giver of advice, fellow teardrop builder, and good camping buddy. Doug passed away on 2/22 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was a frequent contributor to this forum, and in particular to this thread and anything related to Coleman items and the building of teardrops. Doug would appreciate you firing up a vintage lantern or stove in his memory.

Been thinking about how we could recognize Doug and his contributions to the teardrop world that influenced so many of us at our upcoming Shasta Lake Gathering. Decided a lantern light up would be an appropriate tribute. So, bring your lanterns and we'll light them up for Doug... after we get so bright he'll be able to see them! we'll dim them one by one and leave a single lantern burning for Doug. If you'd like to participate from afar, light a lantern Friday, April 27th at dusk.
