Coleman Keepers Campfire come on in!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

I welded the vertical back on (not the prettiest repair but it's no show piece), burned some mantles, massaged the now oil-soaked leather enough to build pressure, pumped and it fired up! I fired up the stove last week and it's functioning well also. Now to focus on the 290...

Here is my 427 "Peter Pump", June 1926. Almost 90 years old.

Image

I got it almost a year ago and just today got it running. It did not have a globe so I put the old crusty mica globe from a L227 I have in it. Pump does not work to well. Probably needs a new leather. Has an R55 generator in it but just need to hold a couple of matches next to it to get it hot enough to make gas and fire up with out much problem. It is not dented up much at all and would probably look real good if I was one to polish. I just like to run them.

Kitty likes it when I burn a lantern on a winter's night. She curls right up next to them.

Smart cat. We had a fire in the fireplace tonight... something we seldom do because it sucks the heat out of the house, and haven't done for a couple of years... and the twins, our dumb formally feral kittens who are now getting big enough to call cats, were acting all afraid and weirded out by it.

Nice lantern, too.

It has been kind of cold here but really it is much closer to what we normally get than the past 3 years. Have some snow down here on the Snake River Plain but not bad. I here our Idaho mountains is getting a pretty good snow pack so things are looking up there.

I have been thinking the same thing. I'm sure he is just distracted by the latest hobby or interest.
