Just a quick comment, be sure your lantern works BEFORE you bring it to the light up. And mark your lanterns so they dont get mixed up. I am sure that stuff is in the rules I just wanted to say it again .

Hey everyone! The IRG is only like 8 weeks away. There is still plenty of time to get you lantern in operating condition. Now is the time to "git-r-dun" and be part of the fun and hopefully record setting attempt. Don't wait! Parts/tools will be few and far between at the event if needed. Doug

Thanks for the bump on the rules and tips Kirk! For sure! Have them running, fueled up and with your ID on them.

IRG 4.0 2012 Coleman light up info...

Postby nevadatear » Fri May 25, 2012 11:35 am

We may have two or three more if. Randy the machinist can turn into randy the Coleman repairman before then. I know we do need to find a screw insert and ball nut for the 242. With the crapppy weather and my sinus infection camping looks like it is cancelled for the weekend Looks like we may spend the weekend thinking about camping and getting ready for irg instead.

I've been checking my lanterns for our light up. I I will also be building the stands to put our lit lanterns on for a great display and light up. It should make for a good photo Op. :pictures:

I know this is beating a dead horse. But; Please get your lanterns ready and bring plenty of fuel and matches.

See you in four weeks!
Lee

That's a good idea for all those who can't make it. although we can't post while camping. no internet or phone there.

I believe it will be on friday night at sun set.

Not "TRY" to light it....make sure it works! If it doesn't....Oh well....it's not like you didn't have enough time.

So how are we doing as far as numbers go. If it works out space wise I pretty sure I can do 20 or so.

Kevin Had an idea. We are going ot have an UGLY lantern contest. so if you have one you weren't going ot bring because it was an embarassment. You just may have a chance to win if you do!

There's one rule, it has to be a working lantern.

I just got off the phone with Lee...so anyone with an "ugly" lantern...bring it...don't be shy, not all of them are going to be pristine lanterns....there will be plenty of "beaters" in the group. Who knows...maybe you've got the winner...just make sure it works. And everyone who is going to bring a lantern......make sure that YOU HAVE YOUR NAME ON IT! See ya there, and if you haven't gotten them up and running...times about out.....Doug
