My weekend find ( UPDATE )

Postby Joamon » Fri Feb 10, 2012 6:09 pm

Last week I posted that I had the day off and that I was going to the flea-market. It took a while but I finally found a few vendors who had quite a few lanterns. Quite a variety. But most were not cheap. Saw my first 242. The guy had maybe 5 or 6, and some cases too. The only one that was cost effective for me was this Quicklite. Sept. of 24.

It must have taken a hit at some point. The air tube is bent and the vent is sitting crooked. Looks like lots of hard years of service.

I have already started to clean it but no pics yet. :)

Nice find....I like the old stuff! Do you have a pump for it? You can pick them up on ebay and all the usual places. On that lantern...don't over pump it. The hand pumps have a ton of volume to them compared to the built in pumps. Easy to overpressure and make it a "flamer". PS...that gennie needs to be preheated...Doug

These are great lanterns! Good find!
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.
