Had some more guests!

Postby doug hodder » Sat Mar 10, 2012 6:23 pm

Sue and Shelly dropped by the Coleman gas pressure appliance museum today. They ate some lunch at the snack bar and a tour was given of the museum and the extensive restoration facilities. They also stopped by the gift shop on the way out and picked up some "I visited the Doug Hodder gas stove museum" post cards. The dogs didn't think too much about it. But thought the yard was good for pooping. Doug

Randy waves to his fellow burners.

How you two doing? I am not counting on getting tickets to BM this year. But this might be a good year to miss. Unless there is a lot more moisture than normal from now until about Aug 10th the playa is going to be very dusty. And with all the virgins who knows what the event itself will be like. But it might be just fine anyway. See ya round the campfire. If some do fall into my possession I will be there.

Thank you Doug for such a wonderful tour of the museum and the grounds. The restoration area was AMAZING! So cool to see where all the magic happens. :applause: I will definitely plan to spend more time in the upstairs annex the next time! Well worth the drive from Napa. :)

See you again soon!

If you get a chance to visit the museum you MUST do some shopping at the gift store. You can probably do all your Christmas shopping in one place (of course only if you shop for very strange people). I can't wait til he gets the penny stamping machine up and running!

:D

The snack bar had better choices than you see in most museums. The old guy running the snack shop was a hoot!!

Now, was the docent chuck full of historical information and dressed in period costume? Oh, no let me guess, baggy camping pants from the 80s.

The museum had some other guests this morning. Rich and Penny came by for a private tour, they brought along all the fixin's for scratch corned beef hash, poached eggs and a fruit salad. I built a blueberry crumb cake for dessert. It was a great brunch in the Museum snack bar! After the tour, they also shopped in the extensive gift shop, while the Nascar Vegas race was on. The upstairs annex is currently undergoing some renovation. I actually picked up some of the junk in it. Thanks for the eats guys! Doug

PS...the curator does these tours...couldn't find a decent docent....and they're Chef's pants!

Great timing Kirk!....I just spent some time with the R & D guys and they have already "front burnered" this idea...It's gone to marketing right now...just in preliminary stages, still working on sizing, waiting for a call back from Victorias Secret for some production numbers. It would be nice to have it ready for the IRG however......

Introducing......The COLEMAN STRING BIKINI soon available at the Stove Museum in the gift shop!
