Those both are great finds Kirk! I was on the phone with Jeremy tonight and we decided that the Coleman was most likely a 6B. The clues are the wing nut on the fuel tank, lack of the towel bar/ lid rest, side valve for the aux burner and the Everdur decal on the lid as well as the fold over type flat bar legs. The burners in that one are called "band-a-blue".
The Pre-Way is very similar to the Handi Chef that I have, both are manufactured by Pre-Way. My Handi Chef was marketed through Sears and has the bent wire grate, not cast. It is a preheater type stove. How you lit that one up was to, pressure up the tank, lift the little wire tab sticking out from the side of the manifold and hold it while you cracked the valve and dribbled some fuel into the cup, shut down the valve. The wire tab diverts the fuel from the manifold into the pre-heat cup. Light up the cup and let it burn off. Once it boils the fuel and burns off, it has preheated the gennie, then crack the valve and it should light at the burner. I usually use a small amount of denatured alcohol when lighting up that type of stove as sometimes it's tough to regulate the amount of fuel with the valve on a stove of that age.
That's a really nice stove! As with any stoves of that vintage...take your time and don't get carried away with tearing into it. Go slowly.....It also has a bayonet type aux burner control.
What ever stove you have found for me is greatly appreciated and yes...I would love to have one. I will compensate you well and will give any stove a great home with a lot of it's buddies. I don't have either. Thanks for thinking of me. Doug
