Before you go spending money on a new pump. Pull the old one out. If it has a leather cup just oil that up good. The proper oil is Neats Foot Oil but I just use 3 in 1 or sewing machine oit. Soak up the leather good the spead out the leather a bit. Check inside the pump bore for things that are not suppose to be there. If the check valve shut off rod is still there it is usually easier to take it out and put it in the pump shaft then install the whole assembly. I have yet to replace any leather pump cup. Now if you have the neoprene cup, probably have to replace it. In my Opinion.

I am with Randy, look at fixing it before you spend money buying part you may not need. I have a 1934 lantern with the original pump leather in it. It was all dried out when I bought it and would not pump pressure. I oiled it and it works great now.

thanks . will look at it after work tomorrow . they frown on bringing flamable liquids in the station ..............
at least i can look at the links betweeen calls .....

i did oil the leather and it worked ......thanks
pressure now to generator , on both tubes . will fuel it and put mantles on it in the morning .
after that will strat taking it apart and cleaning off rust .
this is going to be a fun project .
