My Kooklite

Postby rainjer » Wed Jun 27, 2012 7:02 pm

I received this Kooklite as a gift from guy on the Coleman a few weeks back. I came in a box disassembled. Once I figured out how it went back together all it was missing all of the cooking parts and the globe covers. I posted a wanted ad on the the forum for the missing parts with no luck so I decided to make my own parts. They are not perfect but will work until I find the real parts.

I made the parts based on pictures I found on the web and eBay.

Those formed bits for the top grate look to be galvanized or similar.

You may want to think twice about using that in a cooking application. Gets poisonous when heated.

All the pieces are aluminum, either 6061 or 5150.

Oh good, I'm relieved. Some times the photos can be deceiving.

My conscious couldn't let that one slide based on what I thought I saw, so I hope you can appreciate my comment for the others out there that may not be so well informed. :D

Nice work. Good to keep these odd balls running. I may be in that group.
