Just checked Ebay, my opening bid won me a working 200A! My birthday lantern no less. Pics when I get it, but here is the listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/230821406259?ss ... 1497.l2649

Now I just meed to pick up a globe. It will be a user so the replacements at Basspro will do just fine.

Nice find for a b-day lantern....won't take much to get it up and going. 200's are a real workhorse of a lantern...Doug

I was pleased with the price. I really thought I had set my bid too low, but I really didn't want to spend too nuch. The last one I bid on went for something like $60. There was another one that kept being relisted with a price of $70. I don't know what that guy was smoking. It will go nicely with my 413F stove and will probably be the extent of my coleman collection. The only way that will change is if I come across a steal of a three burner. Now the waiting begins.

Nice lantern. Just try to stay out of the coleman fumes and you might avoid the addiction.

Congratulations! Nice lantern and a good price. One day, I was thinking that the only vintage piece of camping equipment around here is me. Then I realized that I had stored a 200A lantern with a metal case and a 413G stove bought in the late sixties and used for tent camping all these years. The 200A is 1966 vintage and the stove would be from the same timeframe, but I have been unable to spot any serialization on it. All items are in good condition. It does a body good to have some vintage Coleman.

Hey Jim. Is good to have old Coleman from your past. Only a few of my suitcase stoves has any date. If it does have one it should be on the under side of the tabs on the tank and on the bottom of the case, on the out side. One of mine has dates both places and are different. Made one part and then about 6 months later made the rest. I have 2 200A's one of them I fixed up to burn kerosene.

As promised:

95442

95444

The frame looks like it should clean up pretty well, just a little surface rust.

95445

All torn down.

95446

Why yes, that is my tnttt satalite dish dutch oven stand. I have removed the valve from the fount and will begin cleaning everything up. The genie has a bit of a warp to it, so that will be replaced. The stains show that the valve packing may have been leaking, so I may replace that as well. Those two items, a globe, a mantel, some paint and a new label. Should be an easy rebuild.

That was my first thought. I may just touch up the fount. There is a lot of paint missing on top and I'm just not sure I want to leave it that way. It really is in good shape.

Re: I am soon to be in the 200A club! test burn.

Postby wagondude » Tue Aug 14, 2012 4:07 pm

So today I put the cage back on and burned in a new mantel. Then I put in a little fuel and pumped it up. Opened the valve and put light to the new mantel and then==

It worked!
