442

Is a 442 stove worth $40.00 I know it is a remake of the 424. It looks very good shape the # 2 burner looks as if has never been used and the main one just a small amount. I have loved the alum stove with the red wind screen and have been looking for one for years to go with my rear door scotty. Thanks for the advice. It dose seam like a lot of money to me but I do want one.

 ain't even worth the price of aluminum it took to make the darn thing - in fact give the name, number and location so i call that no good rascal who it trying to pawn it off for 40 buck so i can tell him what to do with it - :x

Actually it is the ONLY year that Coleman EVER made a stove case out of aluminum. The 442 (two burner) and it's big sister the 443 (the burner) are becoming the collectors pieces. if you got the 40 bucks - then go for it - I'd hate to see you miss out on a good conversation piece trying to cheap out on the price - of course it all has to be there and not bent all out of shape- or else price goes out the window

What he said. Of course it is worth it. Have you seen the price of the new stoves? Even a cheap one is more than that.

What's cool about the 442 is that you will be shocked at how light that stove is compared to a regular similar sized 413. You will also be shocked at how hard it can be to clean up if you spill a bunch of stuff into the bottom of it and it dries on all those little aluminum dimples. When I use mine, I lay a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom, just in case. They are an easy restore however, if they are straight and have no fatigue cracks on them. The real rare one is the 442A...the smooth sided version. Shown below...a regular 442 restored. For that price, if it's worth it to you and you really want one...get it. I was very fortunate and this one was pretty much a beater and Kirk just gave it to me. Doug

I still do not know what this stove is. If you go to old town coleman and go to there stove photos it is the first one that is alum. They say it was made for Japan The stove has the same coleman green Logo on the inside and a red coleman (looks like plastic) sticker on the front left side it is on ebay just dose not come up on the vintiage site. It has only one day left on the sale. the person has 100% good feed back so I guess it is a good sale.

Well it is on the way I think I bought a 425 alum with red wings also it is a dual fuel. Did they make a remake of the 442? I hope they did or I jumped too soon.
