repainting stove

Postby droid_ca » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:37 am

I just picked up a camper that has an oven and stove combo and I'd like to repaint it can I just paint over the enamel or should it be sanded down I have no powder coaters near me as that would be my best option so I'm going to try and repaint it..
So What is the best way???

You need to find very high temperature paint and one thing to remember is that paint used for a barbeque for instance will not stand up to the scrubbing that happens on a stove top. As you pointed out powder coating is probably the best solution and I would be seeking some one out that can do that, despite the difficulty. I chose a stainless steel cook top for CR and do not regret it.

Is it enamel paint or porcelain? Either way there are kits that allow you to paint or apply a durable surface. Check with Eastwood dot com or even lowes or home depot. Good Luck with the recolor!
