I bought a lantern at an auction with the intention of fixing it up, but I put it on a shelf and went on to other projects.
It is a Slant Generator Coleman Lantern dated 8 9, (September of 1928 production, I believe.) All the parts are there, it will need a globe. I oiled the leather, put in fresh fuel, (the old fuel was not all that bad) pumped it up and it lit and burned bright. It lost pressure after a few minutes, but I think a fuel cap seal would get it going. Other than the fuel cap seal losing pressure, there were no leaks. The font has no big dings, and the vent is in pretty good shape. No rust on the bottom.
Here are some more pics from my gallery.

I would like to trade for a one-mantle, nickel font, green vent, Coleman lantern in good shape and good working order. I am thinking a 242, but are there other Coleman models with that configuration?
I was going to sell this one on Fleabay, take the money and buy a 242, but if I could work out a deal with someone here, I could avoid the hassle. (Hopefully!)
Let’s hear your thoughts on a trade !
Thanks,
Kevin
