I heat the vinegar up in one of my stainless steel pots, then pour it into the plastic pan of parts I need de-rusted, Speeds up the process.

Any heat I generate will be applied to my body. It is cold here again.

Well I did start my 1979ish 1080 Massy tractor today so scrap the snow out of my drive so I can get to town. Or any where else. I had the booster charger on it and slipped the 502 running on kerosene under the oil pan for about an hour. Finally got the tractor started. It was 10f degrees. Then scraped snow like a fool boy for about 45 minutes. It has a cab, but no back window or heater.

What you using heated acid on? Inquiring minds want to know. Ok, nosy people.

Rusty nuts and bolts from my 413E stove, and other doo dads.
Heating weak acid is a trick we use at work except there we have the proper ceramic utensils for doing it.
All in a vented acid cabinet.
Now my apartment smells like our house did when my mother made pickles except for the hint of metal oxide.
Kind of smells like blood in a way.

A little heat works great when using the citric acid as well. I set parts in a pan on the wood stove in the garage and it will boil them while I'm working on other stuff....works like a charm. Doug
