just wandering if all coleman lanterns are the same in height in models. I have two coleman cases for a big hat 228 and none of them will fit as they are just a inch to small in height.

does some coleman 228s come smaller by a few inches than others? are any other models of coleman lanterns smaller than other lanters.

would a coleman 228E possible be higher in height than a 228F which is a newer version of the coleman 228 big hat?

yes the Es are taller than the later 228/220. And From what I have seen Coleman never made the plastic cases for the E and earlier lanterns. Only the metal cases. Good luck in finding one of those. At a price you can afford.

thanks, randy. I was wandering what was up. thats why my e won't fit a plastic case! to tall! theres one sulution now randy. make my own case and use the case wood butcher made for my walk the winds lantern as a pattern to get a idea from.

a wood case is possible!

just takes intrest and time.

but I had a hunch there was something up with the height of my big hat compared to others.
