I am working on a 252 Coleman Military. How do I take it apart?

And one opening of the inverted U shaped air tube should have a copper (or is it brass) stopper in it.

I love a military....nice roar to it. Kirk...it's more of a low pressure thing...don't over-pump it when you fire it up...just a few pumps into it assuming you have more than a splash of fuel. Once it's up and cooking...then you can put more pressure to it. Once pumped up after it's initial firing...mine runs for hours with no re-pump. It'll huff and puff when you shut it down...that seems to be typical on them. Doug

Mine worked but I dismantled it to sand blast the cage and air tube assembly and paint them with header paint. Than baked them in the oven.
I couldn't quite get the air tubes aligned back to stock. I didn't want to break anything.

Put a brand new generator in it.

You'll love it. It roars like the 530 pocket stove.
Here it is with a red globe in it a few weeks back.

I thought the idea of war was to have the good tools and guns so we could win. I must be missing something here.

I've never had any luck trying to get an old gennie to run worth a hoot. I just put a new one on and they run great. If someone has played with it and poked a wire up into it...it may not want to operate correctly. Don't ask me how I know. I got a 1982 SMP military in an original box...still unfired and it came with all the spare parts in it, spare gennies were typical to include. In fact...the original box was unopened until my "secret" pickers opened it. Watch firing it up...too much fuel can happen easily. Doug

Mulkiteo...if you get the military surgical stove...you get the roar of 2 of those burners at once in one stove! Heats water in a hurry...Dave A gifted me one last summer. Doug

I got it to go but wow it is a un-ruley bastard. Fire and lots of it. It has a twisted up generator so I ordered some from Mike.

The whole thing just bursts into flame randomly .
