Light up request for my Dad who passed away this morning

Postby Wolffarmer » Sun Jun 02, 2013 12:22 pm

Hi. My dad passed away this morning and I would like to request a Mil Spec light up ( if you have them if you don't burn what you got ) He served in WWII in the 1st Cav in the Pacific Theater. He saw to much action for someone that enlisted when he was to young to legally go in. He was in the group that liberated the Santo Thomas Civilian Liberation Camp in Manila. He was at the gate when they blew it open. And was in the heavy street fighting for Manila. Specially in the old city. Later, on the advance to Clark Field he was severely wounded and that was his ticket home. He spent the rest of his life farming and at one time we was among the 10 largest farms in Idaho. When he stopped actively farming he started collecting cars and there are now 65ish old, vintage, special interest cars, pickups, tractors and trucks.

Thank you all in advance. In Jan I requested a light up when he was first said to be in stage 4 COPD and not expected to live another week. He is a fighter and the past months has been many up and downs. And one last thing let me get on a soap box and say. Stop smoking. You don't want to see what COPD is like.

Randy

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, Randy. I'll be staying in the nursing home all night with my Dad, so I'll just send positive thoughts and prayers for your family. Your Dad is in a better place now.

Randy, my Dad lost a leg in WWII, and came home to farm in New Mexico all the rest of his life. Hats off and prayer for your Dad, mine and all the True American Heros. Ronnie

Sorry for your loss Randy. Your Dad sounds like quite a guy. He will be missed for sure. Don't have a Military spec at home . This is the best I could do.

Randy,

I do not own a Coleman but come sundown I will stand on the veranda and make a toast to your old man with a gentle red.

Take it easy.

Roo Dog. Dad trained in Australia after being shipped there from Pear Harbor. The boat they had them in was a wooden Indonesian that leaked a bit and they had to bail it out. And about all they had to eat was rice and there was worms in it. That trip lasted over a month. He never could stand to eat rice or anything that looked like rice after that. Doug nice picture of that in your latest trailer. I need to find the build thread and catch up. The forum hasn't been sending me notices for a while. again. Thanks all you others also. I have my 4 burning on my porch right now.
