Ok

It is my time to start a Coleman Club. “The Coleman Night Riders.”

Rule #1 You must Ride a Coleman.
You need one of these or its Bigger Brother.

My new 2.4 cc chopper :) Not really camping but when finished It will fit in a Teardrop door or on the tongue.

Any idea on whose parts they used when building those? It appears you need some rear hub items. Would be a fun item to ride. Doug

 Terry, That thing looks far too dangerous of a contraption for you to be riding. Are you not concerned about falling off of it and being hurt so bad that you can't get out and buy any more Coleman items? :NC I am really starting to worry that the handlebars will fall off mid turn, and don't forget about the hubs that Doug mentitioned seezing and throwing you over the handlebars? :FNP Just kidding ya Terry! Looks like it could be a fun project. Hope you can find all the right parts and restore it to it's former glory.
P.S. I hope that you are not offended if I don't join your new "Gang", I am afraid that little thing could not support my big butt. Maybe my left cheek, but not both of them! :D

I am thinking that the 2.4 refers to cubic inches not cc or cubic centimeters. 2.4 cubic inches would be 40 cc which seems about right for that engine.

Looks like an Aermacchi engine.. Harley and Sears used em too so you might have some luck sourcing parts under those brands. Shame it isnt a 50cc version since I have alot of bits from one..

Ya dguff Your right I slipped. It is a 2.4 Cubic Inch. 40 CC of Raw power.

Doug.

It is missing the rear Axle, brake hub assembly, Tail light lense, Seat, and the biggest and most $$ part to get is the Pull start-recoil spring assembly. Supposedly coleman only built 100 of each bike before they decided not to pursue that line of outdoor recreation. The Attex 300 and Arctic Cat prowler are 100% the same as the coleman and they made a lot of those, Fox Sundowner and a list of other mini bikes all share the same parts. so I should not be to hard to get it running.

There is a guy in the International Coleman Collectors Club that has restored both of the bikes and boy do they look sweet.

Kirt

I was looking for a Honda Trail 70 or 90 and have not found any around the local area. I figured I look at Craigslist one more time, Nothing, so I typed in Coleman so see if any lantern were listed and the Mini bike popped up. :) Did you see This sweet Trail 90 at the Dam Gathering. The guy asks his Dad if the bike was still around, His Dad said it was at his brother house. Turns out it was still in one piece under his brother porch. Picture below

Hopefully I will not look too hilarious riding it. Google Image “ texas shriner mini bike ”

Kirk, I love the old Honda Trail 70's and 90's! One of these days I'm going to find one for a decent price and pick it up for a camp bike.

I know of several people looking for a nice old Trail 90, me being one of them. Not working real hard at it, but I keep my eyes and ears open. A camping bike would be a fun thing to have. Doug

I bought this one 2 weeks ago. It is a 90cc Honda clone. It was sold here by Canadian Tire. It is an 09. It has a four speed Lifan engine and climbs hills like a tractor. Parts from the Honda will bolt right up. It is not made to be street legal. It is a nice little bike. http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicl ... Z521367484

That is a nice little ride, and what a great color. really stand out. :R

The four speed would be nice. That little coleman is only a two speed.
