Well is there anyone interested in a Coleman 2 burner white gas cook top. I couldn't pass it up as I am sure someone here would love to own a 26 year old never fired cooktop. I will entertain offers for it if there is a collector out there that thinks its cool that it is totally pristene and has never been fired.

26 years old and brand new in the box.

I found info on the pick ticket that it came from the k mart warehouse distribution center in Shakopee MN and was shipped to the k mart retail store in Kewanee IL on Sept 3rd of 1988. Showing a retail price of $34.97

Model # is 425F499 and the manafacture date stamped in the bottom is 9 - 87

Sweet stove!

Curious what you had to pay for it.

If you were not so busy building a house and a caboose, I would suggest you customize it for the contest. You have enough irons in the fire, though. BTW I don't know why, but the Goodwill stores up your way seem to keep all the good stuff. The ones down here send all the good stuff to the Wichita warehouse and only keep the junk. No cast iron or anything. I think all the good stuff get listed on line. I have all but given up on the stores near me.

The GW store near me won't sell used gas appliances. Must be a state law or liability issue? :x :? :(

Very nice find Bob....that's a great stove. For anyone thinking they might want one for a tear...the new ones run 80$+ at Wally World. Doug

Great find Bob. You should add that to the chuck wagon. They really cook well. Much better in my opinion to a propane stove.

There are no gas appliances in the Chicago area Goodwills. I have been told they destroy them because they are worried about liability. Can't say for sure, but I have never seen one so I believe what I heard.

I have seen one or two here at the Salvation Army, but they scrap the tank. shopgoodwill.com has them from time to time.

DH and I were given my family's old Coleman 2-burner when we started tent camping in the 80s. I remember Mom cooking on it when I was a kid in the 60s. I keep thinking we need to upgrade to a newer version, but the thing will not die! It's probably going to rust to dust before it stops working. :)
