Excess

Postby nrody » Wed Dec 04, 2013 7:44 pm

So I was cleaning out the garage last weekend and realized that I have 14  Coleman lanterns. 2 are propane, the rest white gas. What in the world am I thinking. I do not need any more lanterns, half of them do not work. I have this really bad habit of going to estate sales and of course I find a new to me lantern every couple of months. When I find them at estate sales a little voice in my head says buy that thing so someone else can't wreck it. Save it for your teardrop friends. It is just crazy :? . Why do I keep buying them? Oh yea, Coleman stoves too, I must have 3 or 4 again. My daughter just picked up a 413F for me that is my Christmas present. It looks like it was used only once. Guess I will have to get them to the Dam Gathering or the IRG in 2014.

Coleman collecting is smart. If it makes you smile to collect lanterns then do it. It gives me something to look forward to. For me they all dont have to work. Sometimes I just like to look at them. They are cheap to collect and have a bunch of details that are fun to learn about. You love Coleman lanterns, embrace it.

Only 14 lanterns and 4 stoves? You don't have a problem. Me on the other hand. :FNP

35 some lanterns, nearly all work. 25 or so stoves, that will work. And I am off to another estate sale this morning. If the pickup will start. 6F this morning when I woke up. Might have to fire up a 502 and slip it under the oil pan. I did that last year to get my late 1960 Massey 1080 diesel tractor going when it was about 10F.
