lighting a coleman 4 mantle chandeller.

Postby slowcowboy » Sat Dec 28, 2013 7:45 am

ITS SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!YEa!!!!!!!!! time for relaxation and time to take your mind off people out of gas. well. part way I am on call this weekend and can't go anywhere. and the propane truck is parked plugged in in my driveway at home.

so my thoughts are turning to coleman.

I got a large 1920s 4 mantle coleman chandaller style lamp sitting in my living room that I got on ebay and am tempted to fire it up and see with out doing any teardrown or clean up on it.

I got to put gas in it and its got a huge font and going to take a hole can of coleman gas probaly.

then I have the external hand pump and I am going to have to put the hand pump on top the gas cock lid and pump it up for a while.

wander how much persesure its going to take to get 4 mantles burning??????????

with two possible flame ups going and two generators to warm up. this going to be interesting.

nice warm day on tap here in wyoming with high pressure and possible temps in the 40s. this should lite good out doors.

I would hate to see what a fire you could cause in side if this thing would cause a flare up on four mantles!!!!!!!!

wish me luck guys and the fire hall in pavillon is just a mile down the north pavillon road from my house I am sure they would love to do some saturday on call work!!!!!

slowcowboy hope to have photos of 4 mantles burning bright this afternoon!

 Never gave it a thought on how to light all four mantles without turning it into a fireball! Just be sure to have a fire extinguisher real close by. Oh and make sure you post :pictures:

Haven't heard anything other than the initial tease, I'm guessing he burned down the family home.

havn't got to far on the coleman chanadaller i did get 2 identical lamp shades from a flea market in dubois for 12 bucks for the coleman chanadaller yesterday after work. I am tied up on all my days off and not going to be home for next two weeks.

Slow, at least you could post some pictures of it, a couple of the mantles up close and then the whole thing with a idea of how big it is ( next to a normal one or two mantel Coleman) I have never seen a 4 mantle, don't keep us guessing for long.
