dang winter weather and ebay and my new coleman stove!!!!!!!

Postby slowcowboy » Mon Mar 03, 2014 8:42 am

rats. they run me up on ebay on a 3 burner coleman stove!!!!! yikes! I just won a 3 wide on ebay but I had to pay a fortune!!!!!!!!!!

I bid a little more than I wanted to in order to get on top as I was going to have to run over to angies house last night to haul some stuff around for her and the auction was ending.

well I didn't know that a big winter storm was headed in to the midwest again and there is a demand currently on anything coleman back there due to cold winter power outages and ice storms. rats!!!!!!!!!!

I got run up right against my maxim and they could have won the stove with another dollar!!!!!!!!!!

its way to high to be a colmanitize guy this winter with ice storms back east and people freaking out about a inch of snow down south and power outages back east.

I am very very tempted to repaint this coleman 426 and get a photo of it buring and then drop it back on ebay with a low starting bid and let them go hog wild with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet I could flip colemans like house now on ebay with a little paint and some good restoration skills!!!!!!!!!!!!

man even the coleman fuel is up in price like the propane I sale.

since I got little time to work on colemans this wnter due to my job I think I will just lay off the ebay stuff and the colemans till summer time!!!!!!!!!

but with my dropping hours at work and my pay check shrinking I might be a coleman sales man due to the high demand with all the winter weather back east!!!!!!!!!

my girl is begging for me to get a side line. I do know though if I got slow summer hours this summer and if propane stays up in price and my own propane delivery job is slow.

I am going to be a fire wood cutter on the weekends in the national forest!!!!!!!!!

I bettor start putting money into a huskyvarnia instead of a coleman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slowcowboy the propane man that runs like hell when he hands you the bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by the way with the price hike on coleman fuel it might be bettor to lay off the old ones and buy new colemans that are dual fuel and go to buring regular gasoline which is cheaper now per gallon than coleman fuel!!!!!!!!!!! I mean 3 to 4 bucks a gallon for gas sure beats 12 a gallon for coleman fuel!!!!!!!!!!

slow what about the kerosene colemans even number one desile is cheaper than now than coleman white gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can just get another generator for your stove if you want to run the unleaded, it is a direct replacement. Or you can just keep cleaning the one that is there. The only down side is the smell and soot from the additives. Or just get the propane adapter and hose to your bulk tank (you should get one of those anyway). I have two gallons of white gas in the garage that will last me years at the rate I use it.

Be real careful Slow with any selling on "E-Pray". One little mistake with the description and you could run into trouble with bidders and IF I remember right I think you have to pay for listings now a days. Also I would be cautious about listing a low reserve it could come back and bite you in the behind!

My #1 rule that I have for myself when bidding on “E-Pray” is do I really want to spend what my maximum bid is?

Also if burning gas in a duel fuel lantern keep in mind that you will have to clean the generator often, it stinks ,and they were not meant to run on gas with ethanol in it you will have to buy premium gas.

I agree about FleaBay..

Not what it used to be. I was a power seller on there until it got silly. People holding you hostage for feedback to get free shipping , stolen parts and pieces, and the non responsive Support center was icing on the cake.

No longer the friendly, happy place it once was.

But if you happen across the strange and bizarre (Jesus Toast and/or overhyped, discontinued snack foods) by all means...

I always find that people "shut in" by winter weather are searching for entertainment. Whenever my wife has sold items on Ebay, they have always done better in winter. Folks just don't seem to have anything better to do. I try to avoid buying anything that may be even slightly collectable during winter. Seasonal items like camping gear are best bought at the end of the season before the "shut in" starts.
