exactly! Would they need to be epoxied? seems Titebond would be good enough for a wood to wood joint, and less expensive. Your temp block could be further from the glue joint too.

Now I understand the two piece, thanks Andrew and Mark. I was thinking about leaving those and skinning around them for the interior, then calling it a design feature.

Hi folks, time to start again on my little project. I now own a gray water tank, but it is 1 inch too thick to fit above the axle.
Image
With only 3 1/2" of clearance, I am afraid it will come in contact with the axle. suggestions?

Hi Del,
good to see you back on it ! :)

the 3.5" shown in the photo,
is that decreased when a load is placed on board ?
this may cause problems if anything is placed between the axle & floorpan. (if the tank can be reduced in size.)

perhaps mount it to the rear of the axle so its protected by it &
place a stone gaurd beneath too ???

best rgds dan.

perhaps mount it to the rear of the axle so its protected by it &
place a stone gaurd beneath too ??? The black tank is already there.

Dry rot ate my tyres. That was a good excuse to buy new ones right? New tyres are 225/75tr15 and being 10pr, they are rated at 2830 lbs each (could have bought 8pr for $0.20 less). Old ones were 235/75r15. Does anyone know what the lug bolts should be torqued at?

The two new ones with the better of the old ones.

Here is my gray tank.

Still figuring out how to mount it. It holds about 30 gal? 30" x 54.5 x (5" near drain, 4" elsewhere). My thoughts are 2" x ? angle bolted on the ends.

My neighbor gave me an old tent trailer which I have been working on instead of my frame. In fact my other neighbor gave me a bunch of wood to build a car port, for over this build.  For now the wood is on the frame. I did finish painting and even reassembled my stabilizer jack.

It escapes me why part is yellow. Now to do the same with the other side.

So you can see it under a dimmly lit trailer -Imagine pulling in about twilight and looking under a trailer in which everything is Black - the yellow kinda sticks out and is easy to find

I have been working on two projects, my convertible dakota, and cleaning the garage. While cleaning the unpainted, and disassembled second jack was in the way. So I painted it, making matching jacks, cool huh?
