I got nervous, I was looking for a pic of the Goldstar unit but I couldn't find it on the net. The only hits I got were from the Lowe's website and it said that it was no longer available. I built my trailer specifically for this unit. Any other unit would require revisions. I went ahead and bought it today. I'll post pics with dimensions tomorrow. BTW it is a Goldstar GL-5004

edit: Here are the pics"

It protrudes on the inside a bit but I'll take it since it isn't very deep in the back. It is also quite close to the ceiling I hope that won't matter. Now I'll mock up the ducts with cardboard.

The size inside isn't a big deal for me. The outside is harder to workaround.

The way you have yours set up, it seems you would only need one duct, on the back side of the unit... the rest of the air flow could just be vented through the walls... I like it.

re the height, that is my major concern, the lower the better. The width isn't as critical..

just checked... that model only shows up on a google search at lowes.... at lowes, it says 'no longer available'....

That's the one! Arne, you might want to find one in a hurry. The Goldstar website (WWW.lgservice.com) no longer lists this model. I'd go outside and get you some measurements, but I can't get to the trailer--it's half-buried in snow at the moment!

Andrea; Nice looking. I checked out a site on them a while back. Too costly for me though. Come on down to our spring gathering in the NC mountains. Should only be about a 6 hour drive.

Spring gathering? North Carolina? hmmm...

Is there any place get togethers are listed?

Good News! I found my Air conditioner at Home Depot tonight. It is branded as a Hampton Bay. It is the same exact thing for the same exact price. The chassis is the same, even has the same bumps and screws. The only difference is (other than the brand) is the face plate, the air filter is removed by dropping the front panel down. This may work better since my filter has to slide out vertically.

I went outside and measured it:
17 3/8 W
11 1/4 H
13 1/4 D

The backside (metal shell) is 7 1/2 deep from the edge of the plastic face plate. I did have to remove some metal angles on the bottom because it was perventing it from sitting flat. I think they are supposed to hook to the window frame.
