Wierd Australian Trailer?

Postby mikeschn » Fri Apr 30, 2004 5:45 pm

Does anyone remember that really wierd looking Australian trailer that looked a little bit like an erector set, that had a tent attached to the back? Got a URL?

Mike,

There is the T'van and the T'van sport. the sport is for smaller cars and the other is using in the outback with 4 by's.

With all the wierd creatures they have out there I would not want my tent on the ground either.

Do you think you could use your graphic software and super impose your Teardrop over the front.

You know there is a chance you could keep your kitchen intact and have this as your dinning room. you could use netting instead and keep the insects out of your irish stew.

...... So this is the Dinning room.

If the kitchen must go somewhere else here are a few ideas.

T'van also has a pull out kitchen

Kitchen IDEAS

Other wise if you need some new ideas in design you might look at this motorcycle side car site.

Hey you could just attach your tear to the side of a motorcycle ...

www.bikemenu.com/photossidecar.html

or new paint job ideas.

anyway they are funny to see.

Ron, I am only a dreamer at this stage. I am still gathering info re building a true off-road teardrop capable of handling our outback. I would really like to know about our weird creatures.

Maybe Ron is talking about something like this Blue Tongue Lizard.

But I'd be more inclined to think Ron was thinking about this Weta when he made that statement...

Mike,

All I can do is laugh .... you got me man .... ha ha (I can not get the face things to work for me if I could it would be the one laughing the hardest). :D

I can see myself now dodging all those ... "They even produce "rat-like droppings"! The largest of these insects, the Giant
Weta, is the heaviest insect in the world, weighing in at about 68 grams." ...

Watch your step you never know what is out there.... I can see I'm in trouble now. T'van here I come.

Mike I never heard of a Weta I learned something new. We just get Jerusalem Crickets, Rattlers, and tourists out here.

Paul,

I only know of those sites but there might be a member who is from that area or now who has traveled to Aust. who might have more info.

I looked at the site pictures and blew them up as big as I could and studied them. most of the parts sit in my computer scrap book for future Ref.

I am like you .. more a dreamer at this point .... I keep looking at the teardrop weblogs and teardroptimes.com members web pages.
There are tons of links. and many are on these webpages. I have Dave who lives over in Morro Bay who is just about to finish his teardrop to ask. Talk to people around you and on this site and teardroptime.com and you may find someone who is close by who can show you what they have done. I try and find Teardrop get to getherings in my area and go look here in CA.

Just ask and any and all of these great guys who have been there done that will halp you all they can.

Jerry at Maxitear.com built one that is high in the back of his maxitear. He like mike will have info to help you find your way. nice guy.

I am getting closer to my project and a better Idea of what I want to do thanks to these Tiny trailer trustees.

Chip,

That is real good new that your daughter is back from Baghdad, I have 2 freinds there now. I am real happy for you.

In Ref. to camel spiders I looked it up and it is hamless that is the good news .... they are found here only smaller.

www.washington.edu/.../ myths/camelspider.html

see bottom of this page

www.defence.gov.au/.../ topstories/story02.htm

But I would still not want to see or step on one.

Chip what do you think of this unusal trailer??
