Designing a clamshell

Trying to design a different pop up camper.
Seen some close on here. My desire is for a really light but roomy trailer. But also quick and easy set up.
Basically a teardrop or angled front that is hinged.
then the back would lift up, would have tent material sides when open.
Looking for 12' long, 6.5' wide and at least 6'2" high at the 54" mark back from the front and at least that high or higher for the rest of the camper.

Any help appreciated.

I would like it to be no higher then 4' when down and that is where I run into trouble.
I can get it down to 5'3" or so but no lower.

Sort of.

Want the canvass/tent to stay attached so all have to do is lift the back. And put in support posts
Hinge would be right at the front.

Figured it out!!!!!!! Here is a quick rendition. It would be about 5' high, think I can tweak it and get down to 4' so 1 sheet height for sides.

Also, check out these inventive pickup campers from South Africa
with the double lift tops giving much more headroom. I believe I
recall someone else suggesting that approach to you...

That alto is close, seen it before.
Wanting to be 4' high when down for less drag - Mikes is 6' high when down. My current one is 5' high when down.
Then from the 54" mark from the front (double bed) be at least 6'-2" or more in height.
Wanting tent sides for lightness.

Got it!!!!!
4' side walls so can use 1 sheet for height.
6'4" wide inside and 12' long.
6'2" inside height at the 54" mark from the front so can stand up, double bed at front.
Back wall could be solid with a flip up panel or tent material with 2 posts to hold up the top.
If back wall is tent material then could remain attached so no rain could get in when setting up.
32" bed/couch at the back The couch back could flip up to become bunk beds.
Top part of door would flip up much like a tent trailer does.

Keep at it. It does not hurt to change things on the computer. I believe I'm on the 4th redesign of my Max Headroom camper Idea.


I like the solid fold up walls of this design.

Kinda realizing that this is probably going to be over my 100lb limit.
Now thinking a tent on a trailer.
Some sort of low profile teardrop say 2' at back and 2.5' at front and about 12-14' long.
The top would flip open and the tent would follow it and come up.
Probably getting to complex and won't build.
Just live with the boler, It's a little small for 4 of us now, all adult size.
Also my wife really wants awashroom of sorts. at least a toilet for nights and a shower area to sponge bath/shower in.

If you make a lightweight shell but still strong enough to support a few Cots bunks you could get 5 in there.
