Matt's Woody Grumman Weekender

Postby matt.tomlin » Thu Oct 23, 2014 6:22 pm

Hello!

I have been wanting to build a TD for YEARS, but my wife had always been somewhat reluctant. She had some good reasons, so I spent my leisure time on other projects. This summer, however, I got a yellow light! Not green, but not red either. So I jumped on it! I read a lot on this and other forums. I spent hours staring at my trailer trying to figure out the next step. Eventually this is what I came up with. I'm mostly pleased with it, which is kind of hard for me to say.

Here are some teasers before the build!

The final (mostly) product!

And this is where it all began

This illustrates perfectly how I enjoy doing something the HARDEST WAY POSSIBLE

Thanks for looking, more to come!

Nice job on the build! Don't forget a "secure" hatch pin or something when it's open. A gust of wind from behind can peel open that big area if it isn't pinned open with something.

Really like the milling for your lumber, but no live edge stuff for the build? Best, welcome, tim

The time you spend planning is more important than the time you spend building.........
