Hey Earl, how's your hinges hangin? LOL

I installed mine in the "sag" position so the position of the door wouldn't change. It took some thinking but worked out well.... Did you need to get the nylon washers to tighten them up? Lookin good, you'll be done enough in time!

Things seem to be hanging just fine Thomas, thanks! :D They are Swinging free! In fact went on easier that the torpedo hinges I put on the bungalette.

Didn't add the nylon washers, things seem to be alright without them, although I probably could add if I needed to. Thanks for the links and comments on how you installed yours.

Managed to get the entry doors installed and trimmed out (still need the weather seal). Also installed the mattress and finished the "Trunk" door for the lower half of the galley area.

Next step - the hatch!

Lookin' good!

About a month to go before LCG. But, the weather is getting better for working outside. If you need extra hands with the hatch, you have SCT people all over DFW, so don't be shy.

Hey Earl

It's lookin great!! Aren't you glad to be done with the doors? I only have 1 door and I bet I took it off and put it back on several times before I was done with it. Oh yeah, where did you get your mattress at? I still need to get one for the critter. Is there any place online where I can have one made?? Again, the blue yonder is lookin great.

Thanks All, appreciate it!

You're right Glenn, we have a great group in the DFW area, and I'll scream for help if needed!

Larry, yep, three doors was a pain, especially the "trunk" door for some reason, and I am very glad they are done. I picked up the mattress at Walmart.com, ship to store (free), and then I had to trim a couple inches off the long edge. A queen mattress is 60x80, my cabin was 57 1/2 x 82.

Here's the link:

Thomas the goal has always been LCG, I may bring it down to the wire, but I think we'll be done on time!

Thanks Cliff, trimming the doors out makes all the difference, still need to install the weather seal and get that plastic film off! Of course, a few finishing touches need to be added as well.

Well, I framed out the hatch, next step skin it and attached the hinge. I also installed all the trailer lighting and the driver's side fender and some
trim work.

Two full weekends left to get the Blue Yonder campable! Might have to pull some long nights because we will not miss LCG!

Hey Earl

You will make that gathering. Your hatch framing looks great so all thats left is to skin and hinge it.

Earl,

The Blue Yonder is looking great! You did an excellent job on the hatch framing.

We're in the same boat...err...stage of teardrop construction. I'm sure you'll have the Blue Yonder buttoned up in time to go camping.

Take care,
Tom

Well Ron, after a lot of back and forth, we decided to build a new tear instead of the standy (at least for now!) Doesn't mean the idea is dead for ever, just on hold as of now.

caseydog wrote:I like that you got the big wheels and tires. Are you staying with the white painted modern wheels, or thinking of some retro wheels?

Maybe some red rims with some moon hubcaps.

Thanks Dog. Red rims huh?

My TD is under construction and will be silver with red accent lines, red fenders and red wheels with trim rings....(and baby moons if I can find them)

Make sure the lights work, the hitch is bolted on tightly, and SHRINK WRAP it if you aren't completely finished! Can't wait to see it.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
