can't wait to make some more saw dust tomorrow (possibly getting the profile on wood)

Your build is looking good and moving along quite fast! Have you given any thought to extending the tongue of the HF trailer? Much like Zach and many others have done. It gives you a bit more stable tow then without it.

looking really good so far. to answer your question about the window being mounter vertically, mine are done that way, (cargo doors) I used some stick on foam window gasket replace the factory stuff looks like its holding up just fine so far. If i see a problem i will probably grab some rv door and window gutter to use above it.
Til later, See ya

yes I am considering the tongue extension, also debating on whether to flip the axle or not.

After work today, I stopped by the local metal supplier to get a price on aluminum skin.
It will be about $400 for the material w/ tread bright for the front end.
Still not sure how I want to finish it off.
Once I got done with that, I came home and cut and stretched the second side profile

Thanks Dave, I've gotten so many great ideas and tips from this site.
I have a pretty ambitious build schedule with the hopes of camping by Sept.

John,
Your progress is amazing. Are you going single wall? What are your ideas for the interior?

Side walls mocked up 8/18/12

Postby GRY GHST » Sat Aug 18, 2012 4:52 pm

got the side walls mocked up this afternoon
ImageImage
over all height so far just under 65" I think I might flip the axle and cut some height out of the roof to drop it down closer to the height of the V50 57.2 in.

going to borrow my friends belt sander tomorrow to even out the side walls.
also hoping to get the galley cabinets etc. mocked up.
once I have everything mocked up I can take it all apart and water seal everything to prep for final assembly.
still hoping to camp in September, but it will obviously be more toward the end now if not October.

Nice job so far John. Thanks for sharing your build with everyone.
Hopefully we will meet up some time in the near future as I am just over in Orlando.
Will be happy to offer any assistance.
