Well - last saturday I worked 12 hours in my garage !

After fixing the first sheet of the roof, I cut the front sheet and drilled all the holes and clamped it to the frame to drill thru the holes into the frame.

I cut the sheet a bit too long to have a little tolerance and marked the correct length from the frame and then cut it precisely.

I drilled the rivet holes on my tabletop, then clamped the sheet again to the frame and drilled through it into the frame.

I noticed too late, that the upper line of holes had to be defined from the cornerpiece
But now it is too late.

Thinking how to make the big door on the left side watertight, I decided in the evening, that there will be no big door.
That saves me weight and building time

Image

I will take a big sheet and close the left side completely. Only a window will be there.

So I closed this side but took no pictures, because it was after midnight.

Best weather here in Southern Germany so I used it to spend my Saturday in the garage.
I closed the left sidewall with a big sheet 1440 x 1000 mm and drilled and deburred a lot of 4 mm holes.
Set all together and made a first rollout into the sun.

Image

Then I cut another smaller sheet to enlarge the big sheet so I can close the rear part of the roof with the connected sheets.

Pure sunshine today, so my wife told me to ignore the waiting bathroom ceiling and sent me out to my trailer.
Today I connected the sheets, attached it some times to the frame and cut another smaller sheet for the front part of the roof.

Image

then the next fitting and drilling more holes ...

The frontal part of the roof will get a big clear plexiglas window, so I can see the stars before sleeping.
Into the rear part (above the tabletop) I will insert a transparent vent equipped with mosquito net.

Image

Next step is to cut the left window into the big sheet and the cutout for the roof vent.

Very nice! This is exactly the type of build I've been hoping to find for inspiration on my own.

Friday afternoon and sunshine.
I returned early from my office and entered my garage.

Removed the sheets from the frame after marking the right place for my vent and window.
Then drilled the holes for fixing the windows later with stainless screws and cut the holes for the window and the roof vent.

Then puzzled all together with polyurethane glue and shot my first line of rivets into the skin :D

Image

Then supported the whole thing - so the glue will harden nearly like the sheet is bend later on the frame.

The good weather where you are located and an understanding wife allowed for some excellent progress on your build! :applause:

This morning after breakfast I reanimated my bike from hibernation.
From march 1st my bikes season plate is valid again and she got back her battery and started immediately.
:D

After a short round to test the brakes I went to the garage, took the wall, I pieced together yesterday and attached it to the trailer frame.

Then I hooked my raw trailer to the bike and made a test ride.

Image

It follows fine without any problems and I tested it up to 100 km/h (60 mph) !

The mirrors of the bike are wider than the trailer (3.3ft) so I will not have any problems in the traffic,
and the fuel consumption will not rise very much, i hope.

That's great. How's the trailer balance now that most of
the skin is on?
