I'm enjoying watching this build.

Really like your profile.... I'd been sketching something similar myself.... Very Benroy-ish but with a perfect 1/4 circle at the rear!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks!!!. I think as it progresses I should have made the front radius 24" instead of 18" It's almost too tight to bend some wood around. I now have the inside front wall/ceiling installed, and the screw holes filled. I cut the hole for the fan and have applied the "Magic Mix" (3:1 mixture of Mineral Spirits to polyurethane) to both sides of the ceiling. Pictures coming soon.

Installing the Front wall and ceiling.
Image

Cutting the hole for the fan.
Image

Small nails from the nail gun weren't cutting it, went with screws, then wood filler for the screw heads.
Image
Image

Applied "Magic Mix" to both faces of the Luan for the ceiling, then 2 coats of Zinsser oil-based Primer to the inside surface.
Image

All Primed, ready to paint.
Image
Image

CRAP!!! Slipped up with the electric planer while trying to trim the spars level with the profile.
Image

It's not so bad, nothing I can fill in then cover with fiberglass.

Sometimes I shy away from power tools for this very reason; it is way too easy to go too far too fast. With a hand plane that would not have happened. It takes a little longer sometimes, but it is therapeutic, too, so that's works for my build style. That, and you can use the wood curly-ques as tender for starting your camp fires. :D

Like you said, not a big problem to fix and you are getting it done! So more power to ya'!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I'm a wood carver too. Give me a sharp gouge over a Dremel any day.

Painted the walls
Image

Put down the Vinyl Floor. I used liquid nails underneath and a hard roller to flatten the vinyl out.
Image

Put the hatch lids in place and cut the vinyl around them

Had some areas in the vinyl flooring that the glue didn't spread to which cause this blistering effect
Image

The solution: Cajun Injector to the resue. Filled that puppy full of Tite-Bond II wood glue.
Image

Injecting the wood glue under the vinyl flooring
Image

After I injected the glue I rolled the blisters flat. I was able to take care of most this way, but still some would not lay flat.
Image

Drilling screw holes in the aluminium angle I'm using the trim the floor boxes
Image

After I drilled the holes I drilled counter sinks
Image

Floor boxes all trimmed out with aluminum angle

Finishing up with the lids for the Floor Storage Boxes. Had to chisel out holes for the handles, then mount the piano hinges and then mount the doors to the floor.

Looking good.

Might I advise that you keep your electronics away from the sawdust as much as possible? I realize that some fitting is required, but I bet the circuit boards won't take kindly to the full onslaught of the construction environment. Kind of looks like you are working around them.

Thanks for the tip. Most of the cutting is done outside the teardrop and taken in to get fitted, but sanding will start soon so I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
